Although surreally, there where make files to cross compile on a Linux machine for both Windows and Mac Os. This appeared to be because there was not a make file for a Linux environment. Meanwhile RawTherapee running on the same machine is blazingly fast in comparison. I have already tried doing this sort on the linux machine with SPP and concluded that it was not an efficient use of my time. Simply coming up with the thumb nails takes minutes. However the age of the machine plus the number of files means every action takes a long time. You lose the GPU optimization, but it can work.
